Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The door handles of uPVC/Composite are made of robust materials and are suitable for doors with multi-point locks that require a strong design. The handles are inline, and they use the same screws and spindle to secure them. They are easily fitted on new or existing uPVC/Composite doors.
The design of the sprung lever allows the handle to be set and angled for comfortable operation and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200 000 cycles. This helps ensure that the finish is of high quality and performance is maintained over time. The sprung lever can be reduced to accommodate more locks. This is particularly beneficial for doors with narrower frames, in which the cylinder is further back. A shorter lever can be used for doors that have a latch that can be activated with the thumb on the inside.
Lever Pad
A Lever Pad upvc door handle operates differently to the lever type handles on doors. These handle types are either operated by a single spindle or by two spindles, either inline or offset. They are commonly employed on UPVC doors with double glazing. They come in a range of finishes and variations.
The handles are available in a variety of finishes including White Chrome and Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and resistant to corrosion. This provides the handle with an outstanding performance and durability to serve the purpose it was designed for.
All UPVC lever pads for handles include a spindle and screws and can be mounted on the uPVC door. The backplate fixation centres of 211mm permit a larger handle, which is often an advantage when replacing a damaged or old multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are spring-loaded, which solves the issue of door handles sagging out of their horizontal position when they are not being used.
When selecting a replacement UPVC handle and spindle it is crucial to match the dimensions of the PZ on both the multipoint lock and the uPVC door. Repair My Windows And Doors may also be called 'handle centres' or cylinder centres'. It is important to match the correct handles.
Once you have the correct PZ size, you'll be required to make sure that the lever pads and push pads are of a suitable shape for the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) compatible handles you need for your doors. They are typically round or square with an internal lever and an external push pad.

Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are typically used on uPVC doors, but can also be used on other types of door. They operate with a key to unlock a cylinder case which then reveals pins which can be aligned with the pins inside the lock body, allow them to rotate the cam, thereby opening the door. Euro cylinders can be equipped with up to six pins with external and internal doors usually needing different levels of security.
The choice of the correct cylinder is vitally important; this depends on the way your doors and handles are utilized. External doors, for example should be equipped with cylinders with greater security, whereas doors inside can be secured with a standard cylinder. In addition, some cylinders have extra features which can enhance security, for instance anti-drill or anti-bump properties.
A euro cylinder needs to be properly measured to ensure it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder should be measured from the central fixing screw hole to the other end of the cylinder, including the thumb turn if you have one. It is recommended to do this while the lock is in place however, in the event that this is not feasible, you can take it off and remove it to take measurements. It is essential to ensure that there is no cylindrical lock that extends beyond the handle or escutcheon. This could make it vulnerable to lock snapping attacks.
Most modern cylinders are constructed with bump and anti-drill features that are built into their design. These are designed to reduce the chance of attack by forcing cylinders to rotate in a new direction. This will help to deflect an attack and keep your door safe.
There are cylinders constructed to withstand snapping. This is a typical attack on cylinders. A special tool is used to break the lock's break line and then the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a lot faster and more straightforward than opening the door with a multipoint lock and leaves no evidence of a break-in, which can hinder an insurance claim.
Spring Cassette

This spring cassette is located inside the base plate of your door handle. It offers a spring-loaded solution to return your multipoint lock handles back to their resting position after using. The handles had no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disengaged. Adding this simple component is among the best methods to correct this issue and is an excellent way to stop your upvc doors from getting stuck in either closed or open position, as these aren't always easy to manually close by hand.
These spring cassettes are specifically designed to be used with multipoint locks that are sprung but they won't work with unsprung multipoint handles and you must have a custom hole cut into your backplate to allow these to fit (please see image for technical diagram). These cassettes can be used as a replacement to broken or missing cassettes on the backplate of uPVC door handles. They feature a square cut out which allows for an 8mm spindle to be used and are sold as a set.
